Cookie Policy
Hey. This page explains what cookies are, why I use them, and how you can control them. I'll keep it simple – no legal drama.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your browser (computer, phone, tablet). They're not viruses, they can't access your files, and they don't know your name unless you tell them. Think of them as sticky notes that remember basic stuff – like if you've seen a popup before.
What cookies do I use?
Nothing creepy, I promise. Here's the honest list:
- Google AdSense cookies – These help show ads that are somewhat relevant to you. Google uses them to limit how many times you see the same ad and to measure ad performance. You can read Google's cookie policy here.
- Basic session cookies – These keep the website working properly (like remembering your preferences if you close a popup). Without them, some tools might act weird.
- Analytics cookies (optional) – I might use something like a simple analytics tool to see which tools are popular. No personal data, just numbers like "PDF compressor was used 500 times today".
Do cookies track me around the web?
No. I don't use cross-site tracking cookies. The cookies here only work on UseFreeToolsOnline.com. Google AdSense might use its own tracking for ad personalization, but that's Google's thing – you can control that in your Google Ad Settings.
How to disable or delete cookies
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Here's how for common browsers:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Block all cookies
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
If you disable all cookies, some tools on this site might not work perfectly. But you can still use most of them.
What about "Do Not Track"?
Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" setting. I respect it – if your browser sends a DNT signal, I won't use any non-essential cookies. But AdSense and basic functionality may still need some cookies to work.
Third-party cookies
Google AdSense may set its own third-party cookies. I don't control those. If you want to opt out of personalized ads, visit Google Ad Settings.
Changes to this policy
If I ever add new cookies (e.g., for new tools), I'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. I won't spam you with notifications – just check back occasionally if you care about this stuff.
